Perched at 3,291 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas, Yamunotri Temple has a rich history. Built in the 19th century by Maharani Gularia and later reconstructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah, it pays homage to the Yamuna River. A silver image symbolizing the river graces the temple. As the initial stop of the 4 Dham Yatra circuit, it marks the beginning of a sacred journey to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
